Description

In her debut mystery, Chocolate Chip Cookie Murder, intrepid amateur sleuth and bakery owner Hannah Swensen proved that when it comes to crime, nothing is sweeter than a woman who knows how to really mix it up. Now, the flame-haired, tart-talking (and baking) heroine is back, judging a contest where the competition is really murder.

Strawberry Shortcake Murder

When the president of Hartland Flour chooses cozy Lake Eden, Minnesota, as the spot for their first annual Dessert Bake-Off, Hannah is thrilled to serve as the head judge. But when a fellow judge, Coach Boyd Watson, is found stone-cold dead, facedown in Hannah's celebrated strawberry shortcake, Lake Eden's sweet ride to fame turns very sour indeed.

Between perfecting her Cheddar Cheese Apple Pie and Chocolate Crunchies, Hannah's snooping into the coach's private life and not coming up short on suspects. And could Watson's harsh criticism during the judging have given one of the contestants a license to kill? The stakes are rising faster than dough, and Hannah will have to be very careful, because somebody is cooking up a recipe for murder...with Hannah landing on the "necessary ingredients" list.

"Another delicious adventure...a superior cozy sure to leave readers satisfied...but hungry for more." --Publishers Weekly

This is the second Joann Fluke mystery I have read. Her books are fun to read. More important, I appreciate Ms. Fluke's principles as the heroine in the book chooses not to sleep with her boyfriends. These are books that I would happily recommend to anyone who enjoys a fun mystery and loves to cook (I have tried a couple of her recipes and they aren't bad). Good reading for young and old alike.

Summary: "Love This Series"

All the Hannah Swenson Mysteries are wonderful they are light hearted make you smile mysteries "cozy mysteries" (not scary, gory, or sad) but they are actually really good "keep you guessing" mysteries. I have read the first four and have now bought all Hannah books and anthologies for my Kindle, I just cannot put them down. Plus if you are someone who likes to bake you will love all the recipes that come with each story. I just book mark each recipe as I come to it on my Kindle and then they are super easy to find when I need them. I would recommend the entire series. Also the author, Joanne Fluke, is super nice. I e-mailed her once, when one of the cookie recipes I made did not turn out right, just to see what I might have done wrong and she actually e-mailed me back a couple hours later. Just a super nice person and a wonderful mystery writer.

Another great great read by Joanne Fluke. Hannah's character is coming along and starting to grow. I did like seeing her sister Andrea more involved this time along with the two men Hannah likes. This series should be very interesting as it goes along.

Summary: "intriguing!"

The story line in this second sequel about Hannah Swensen, the "cookie lady" was so engrossing to me I could hardly put it down. Although I caught on to who the criminal was before Hannah did, it was still a good mystery. Another great read from Joanne Fluke.

Summary: "Hooray for Joanne Fluke!"

The second book in the Hannah Swenson Mystery series by Joanne Fluke was definitely a fast and fun read! I can't wait to start reading her next(Blueberry Muffin Murder)! I was excited the entire time and only figured out the murderer two or three pages before Hannah did! I think this is definitely a book to purchase. It's a good thing the first two have been so good so far, because I bought the entire series (minus the cream puff murder and the holiday ones).
